Meet Melissa

Melissa empowers clients to uncover the root causes of their health challenges through a compassionate, holistic approach. Blending functional nutrition with personalized coaching, she helps people build sustainable habits for lasting wellness.

My Story

Melissa, a Long Island native now based in Long Island City/Astoria, found her path to Nutrition and Integrative Medicine through her own 12-year struggle with migraines and gut issues. Her journey drives her mission to make health accessible and sustainable.

She loves working with all types of patients—from those with straightforward goals to more complex cases—and approaches each with curiosity, respect, and whole-person care. Melissa has extensive experience in gastrointestinal health (SIBO, IBS, IBD, GERD, food sensitivities, functional stool testing) and also supports patients with weight loss, cardiovascular health, longevity, PCOS, and female hormone balance through perimenopause and menopause. In addition, she works with autoimmune conditions, particularly thyroid function, adrenal insufficiency, and cortisol regulation.

Counseling Style

Melissa emphasizes personalized care, integrating nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and mindfulness for lasting change. She holds a Master’s in Clinical Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health and a Bachelor’s in Nutrition Science and Biology from Syracuse University. She is a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist in New York State, and a Registered Yoga Teacher.

Hobbies/Interests

Outside the clinic, Melissa enjoys hot yoga, dance, cycling, and exploring NYC’s green spaces. She loves spinning vinyl records, reading nutrition research, and experimenting in the kitchen—current favorites include fish tacos and a low-glycemic chocolate zucchini bread. Fun fact: she’s a twin.
